HEEAP

VEEC 2015 Hosted by the University of Danang - University of Science and Technology

On March 16–17, 2015, the University of Danang - University of Science and Technology (UD-DUT) in partnership with the Higher Engineering Education Alliance Program (HEEAP), will be hosting the third annual Vietnam Engineering Education Conference (VEEC). VEEC 2015 is a major event bringing together global industry, government and academic professionals to discuss transformative ideas and solutions to engineering and technical education programs in Vietnam. 

HEEAP Offers Vocational Faculty Development Training

The Vocational Faculty Development Training took place September 8-October 3, 2014.  With a total of 28 faculty members, the cohort was one of the largest vocational groups ever hosted by Arizona State University. The threeHEEAP Vocational partner institutions were represented in the cohort, including Cao ThangTechnical College, Ho Chi Minh Vocational College of Technology and Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City. 

HEEAP Vocational Faculty Development Training - May 2014

The first HEEAP Vocational Faculty Development training of 2014 began on May 19. Seventeen faculty members from three different vocational schools in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam were selected to participate in the four-week program held at Arizona State University. In four weeks, the faculty members were put to rigorous work in developing techniques to enhance their classroom skills. The training alternated between two ASU campuses. At the main campus in Tempe, the faculty members worked with Dr.

CTTC English Club

The HEEAP 2013 male group developed an English Club for Cao Thang Technical College  students as part of their HEEAP Project. The purpose of the club is to enhance technical literacy for the workforce. On April 24, 2014, the English Club opened a student workshop titled “Small Talk.” With more than 100 participating Engineering students, the workshop taught the  participants basic English skills. Along with  students, there were also  faculty members present.  The workshop was led by Ms. Bich Anh and Mr.

HEEAP Director Attends Washington Luncheon

On Wednesday, July 24,HEEAP Director Jeffrey Goss had the opportunity to represent HEEAP in Washington, D.C., at a luncheon honoring Vietnam’s President Truong Tan Sang. The luncheon, hosted by Senator John Kerry, welcomed President Sang to Washington to discuss opportunities for continued cooperation between the U.S. and Vietnam. 

As an exemplary collaborative education project, HEEAP was later honored in a joint statement issued by President Sang and U.S. President Barack Obama.
