Intel’s Grand Master Challenge Fellowship launched in Vietnam
The Intel Grand Master Challenge Fellowship offers 19 graduate students a scholarship to attend Arizona State University for a year-long graduate program, as well as a living stipend. University visits throughout Vietnam were conducted by the Fellowship program staff in the last two weeks of March in order to promote the scholarship to senior year undergraduate students.
Amazon partners with ASU to present new education technology in Vietnam
On March 13 and 15, 2017, BUILD-IT and the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Educate program co-organized two one-day workshops in Ho Chi Minh City and Danang respectively with the participation of 87 faculty members from seven higher education institutions in Vietnam.
USAID visits ASU academic partners in Vietnam
On March 7–8 2017, Mitch Kirby, Senior Academic Advisor from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and his colleagues in Vietnam visited two of ASU’s academic partners with HEEAP, VULII and BUILD-IT: Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE) and Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT). The ASU Vietnam team also attended the meetings.
VEEC 2015 Hosted by the University of Danang - University of Science and Technology
On March 16–17, 2015, the University of Danang - University of Science and Technology (UD-DUT) in partnership with the Higher Engineering Education Alliance Program (HEEAP), will be hosting the third annual Vietnam Engineering Education Conference (VEEC). VEEC 2015 is a major event bringing together global industry, government and academic professionals to discuss transformative ideas and solutions to engineering and technical education programs in Vietnam.
HCMUT Receives ABET Accreditation
Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT), a HEEAP partner institution, received accreditation by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) in the fields of computer science and computer engineering. The accomplishment was officially announced on November 4, 2014 at a grand ceremony in Ho Chi Minh City by Associate Professor Vu Dinh Thanh, who also serves as the Rector of HCMUT. Approximately 300 students and representatives from universities, colleges and industry attended the event.
ASU officials visit Vietnam to support education advancement
In an effort to bolster Arizona State University’s existing partnerships and mission to help advance education in Vietnam, university officials and President Michael Crow recently traveled to the country to meet with local officials, evaluate their progress and discuss further possible action.
