Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT) in collaboration with HEEAP organized an in-country workshop, from July 20-24, titled “Preparing Your Course for Program Assessment: The Role of Faculty in Continuous Program Improvement and International Recognition”. The workshop took place at Vietsovpetro Hotel in Da Lat, Viet Nam. Over 80 participants from 13 faculty and departments attended the training.
During the month of July, the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) hosted their annual training conference for personnel in Da Nang. This conference aimed to provide 200 MoIT employees and representatives from 49 universities and colleges with the most up-to-date information about ongoing and future projects.
Luu Hoang Hai, a student of Ha Noi University of Science and Technology (HUST), recently attended NIweek 2015 — a conference hosted by National Instrument from August 3-6 in Austin, Texas.
NIweek 2015 made Hai more interested in learning about new technologies and what they can do, exploring a future with IoT, and becoming aware of new products from many developers across the world.

During the month of August, the VULII project provided an ABET training workshop for 50 faculty and staff from four member universities and two centers of Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNU HCMC).
On June 5, HEEAP brought a soft skills training workshop to Can Tho University’s School of Engineering. The workshop equipped more than 70 senior engineering students with the necessary knowledge, experience and skills to land a job after graduation.
A student competition named “Racing with Intel Galileo” was held in Cao Thang Technical College under the sponsorship of Intel via HEEAP program from November 2014 to April 2015.
Vocational and University Leadership and Innovation Institute (VULII) was pleased to host the rectors, administrators and staff from HEEAP partner institutions for one week at Arizona State University during the month of April. The participants attended professional development meetings led by faculty, staff and leadership from ASU. Topics included online programs, strategic communications, institutional quality assurance and assessment, public/private partnerships, revenue generating facilities and academic enterprise and setting policy.
Earlier this year the University of Technology and Education (UTE) inaugurated a new distance learning (DL) classroom equipped with the latest technology in videoconferencing and collaboration software and hardware. This facility will allow UTE to connect with institutions of higher education around the world to create an interactive channel between faculty and students.
